As of Monday this week, I hit 51 pounds!! I'm keeping my calories between 600-800 calories a day. And I'm exercising 5 or 6 days a week.Doing Zumba cardio and Zumba sculpt and tone and riding my stationary bike for an hour!
My class reunion is in October and I hope to have lost at least 100-120 pounds by then!!
I definitely have a love-hate relationship with protein shakes!! No matter how good they are, they're always grainy-ish and I can't seem to choke down the last couple of ounces!! If I drink one too fast, I feel nauseated!! That's definitely the hate part. Now the love part! I am supposed to be getting a minimum of 60 gms of protein per day!! That's not as easy as it sounds when you can't hold very much in your tummy at one time!! But, I can usually get at least 30 gms of protein from one! That still doesn't make it easy to get it down!
However, I saw a smoothie recipe yesterday that mentioned putting protein powder in!! I've had suggestions of ways to make my shakes better but for some reason a light bulb went off in my head yesterday! So this morning I made up my own protein smoothie!! And it's divine!!
Tropical Smoothie
1/4 cup Jumex coconut pineapple nectar
1/2 container Dannon Fit and Light Greek Toasted Coconut Vanilla
1 scoop Isopure Creamy Vanilla protein powder
1/4 cup frozen sweet cherries
1/4 cup frozen pineapple chunks
I also added a splash of coconut extract
Put in a blender and mix all together. Next time I will probably put in some ice cubes!

I made an entry on My Fitness Pal with the recipe and all the nutritional facts! It's called Lose This Tropical Protein Shake
So, my plan right now is to maybe try playing around with shake recipes!! It's very possible, maybe even likely that mine won't be original. But I'm going to make some anyway!! So stay tuned for more recipes!! And some more on my weight loss journey!!
Keep On Losin'!!
